Your first VR movie-night checklist

Spend a few minutes checking the setup before the film begins. A short trial is more useful than discovering an account or compatibility issue halfway through your evening.

Before installing anything

• Use your headset's official app store or the provider's own website.
• Check that your headset and country are supported.
• Understand the total cost, including subscriptions and rentals.
• Check the selected film's availability in your region.

Before settling in

• Update the headset and viewing app.
• Charge the headset and controllers according to their manufacturer instructions.
• Choose a clear, safe seated area and keep the headset's safety features active.
• Adjust fit, picture position and audio to a comfortable level.
• Play a short sample and check subtitles if you need them.

For a shared screening

Confirm that every guest can access the same content using the supported viewing route. Check the room settings, voice chat and start time before inviting everyone to sit through a feature film.

If you feel uncomfortable

Pause and remove the headset. Follow the manufacturer's safety guidance and take breaks. You do not need to finish a film in one session.
